Alone

My life has passed me by,
loves have slipped away,
friends have dissapeared,
no one cared enough to stay.

While I sat in private misery,
I saw before me on the ground,
nail scared feet walk upto me,
and a pierced hand, reaching down.

I slowly reached out to take his hand,
and as He lifted me from my empty sorrow,
I looked into the eyes of my only friend,
and saw a brighter and warmer tomorrow.

Foolishly I thought I was alone,
my heart was filled with pain and doubt,
I felt that all had left me on my own,
but Jesus came and sought me out.

"For the son of man came to seek and save that which was lost."
