A Lonesome Dove - Copyright 2-10-2002 by Dan Sharpe.

I took a walk one autumn day,
to spend some time with God and pray.

A speck of white had caught my eye,
a lonesome dove had lost the will to fly.

As he lay mourning on the ground,
his plight to me was quite profound.

His heart was broken I could see,
it held a love that could not be.

A life alone he just could not face,
his love a burden time could not erase.

Such a pity you could not see,
the lonesome dove in love was me.
