Butterfly - Copyright 1/30/99 by Dan Sharpe.

They treat you like a worthless worm,
with harsh words and stares that make you squirm.

Trapped, confined in a dark small place,
you curl in pain, and hide your face.

Afraid to be just who you are,
and get another cruel heart scar.

I see you through the eyes of time,
and know true beauty so sublime.

You are a bright, sweet butterfly,
and you will shine, they can't deny.

Break forth and dance with life and glee,
be all you were ever meant to be.

You are a bright, sweet butterfly,
look up, unfurl your wings and fly.
