Falling Rain Copyright 5/11/98 by Dan Sharpe.

Rain falling from a darkened sky,
winds its way to earth to die.

Falling through dark nothingness,
till it reaches earth's cold breast.

Tiny dreams fallen on a cold wet ground,
empty hopes once alive, now tear drowned.

Like the longing, empty, and unmet,
that leaves my face sad and wet.

Tears of sorrow like the rain,
pour out of my empty pain.

Tomorrow holds a bright new dawn,
until then bright hopes are gone.
