A Lonely Sea - Copyright 1/12/99 by Dan Sharpe.

If you had been my beach, I would have been your sea,
we would have shared a life filled with glee.

But my love fell in waves on hard painful rocks,
its harmony shattered, broken, it fell in chaos.

Each gentle caress fell on a hard jagged edge,
all that I offered and all I would pledge.

My heart's filled today with a cold, lonely sea,
longing for soft sand that was never to be.

Tossed by a tempest and carried away,
not even to come back on some bright sunny day.

If you were a beach, I was a sea,
now oceans of tears seperate you and me.
