The winter of my heart - Copyright 7/16/98 by Dan Sharpe.

A barren tree am I,
exposed to the winter sky,
barren, empty, and alone I stand,
ravaged by the winter wind's creul hand.

My once full branches are now empty,
my heart now gripped by winter's cold.
leaves fallen, like so many hopes,
blown away, long forgoten, old.

Rooted solid in the earth, I remain,
until hopes bloom again someday,
life will sprout and blossom once again,
feeling the loss of you I mourn and pray.
