EPHESIANS 1:22+
And God placed all things under his feet and appointed him to be Head over
everything for the Church, which is his Body.
COLOSSIANS 1:18
And he is the Head of the Body, the Church; he is the beginning and the
firstborn from among the dead, so that in everything he might have the
supremacy.
Jesus has been made HEAD over all things for our sake (his Body). The Word
makes explicitly clear that God had one purpose in exaulting Jesus over
everything that can be named. The Father wants to bring all things in heaven
and on earth under one HEAD, namely Jesus. He told Jesus to sit at His right
hand UNTIL He makes Jesus' enemies a footstool for his FEET. That can only mean
that it is the Perfect Will of the Father to put all the enemies of Jesus under
the Body of Christ.
PSALM 110:1, HEBREWS 1:13
Sit at my right hand until I make your enemies a footstool for your feet.
HEBREWS 10:13
Since that day he waits for his enemies to be made a footstool for his feet.
We are called to overcome the enemies of Christ. It is not God's best plan,
it is His only plan. Jesus cannot return until his enemies are under his feet.
I know that for a long time folks have been saying Jesus could come back any
day now. But I tell you, upon the authority of God's Word, that the only way
that can happen is for the Body of Christ to be established in total victory
over our enemies. If Jesus comes tomorrow then it means that, sometime between
now and then, we will overcome and walk in victory over the enemy. There is an
additional proof of this, the Word in 1 Corinthians says that the Last Enemy to
be wiped out is death, and that takes place at the rapture of the church. At the
point of the rapture all the other enemies will have been destroyed with respect
to the Body of Christ. Last means FINAL.
1 CORINTHIANS 15:25-27
For he must reign until He has put all his enemies under his feet. The last
enemy to be destroyed is death. For "He has put everyting under his feet." Now
when it says that "everything" has been put under him, it is clear that it does
not include God himself, who put everything under Christ.
This doesn't mean that the enemy will be gone from the earth at the rapture,
just that he will be having no place IN the Body of Christ or our lives, the
"place" the enemies will have is UNDER OUR FEET. That is God's ordained position
for the enemy! Your ordained position is one of crushing the enemy underfoot!
ROMANS 16:20
The God of peace will soon cruch Satan under your feet.
You and I are called to victory in life. There can be no question that it is
the intent and the current work of God in the Church to bring us to a state of
total victory and that requires that we mature and grow up in all things into
Jesus Christ. Right now the Body of Christ bears very little resemblence to its
Head. That must change, and the way it will change is for us to recognize God's
call on us to conform to the image of His Son Jesus Christ. And then to partake
of God's promises, in order to participate in His nature.
ROMANS 8:28+29
And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him,
who have been called according to His purpose. For those God foreknew He also
predestined to be conformed to the likeness of His son, that he might be the
firstborn among many brothers.
2 PETER 1:3+4
His divine nature has given us everything we need for life and godliness
through our knowledge of Him who called us by His own glory and goodness.
Through these He has given us His very great and precious promises, so that
through them you may participate in the divine nature and escape the corruption
in the world caused by evil desires.
God's work is accomplished through His Word, and our choosing to believe it
and then to obey it. If we do so we are promised that we will grow through
several levels of Godly behavior and nature.
2 PETER 1:5-7
For this very reason, make every effort to add to your faith goodness, and to
goodness, knowledge; and to knowledge, self-control; and to self-control,
perserverance, and to perserverance, godliness; and to godliness, brotherly
kindness; and to brotherly kindness, love.
It is to be noted that "godliness" is "Well Worship" in the greek. And that
"Brotherly Kindness" is Philadelphia-Love, love based upon a shared experiance,
And "Love" is Agape-Love, which is unconditional love. We add goodness to faith,
and then once "good" we can grow in knowledge, that knowledge, when we are
established in it, can strengthen us to become perserverant. When we perservere
we reach a place where we are worshiping God well, because we are obedient.
Then we are able to reach out to others in similar circumstances to the ones we
have been brought through. Finally we reach a place where we are able to love
and help those in circumstances we haven't even thought about let alone
experianced. This is Agape-Love in manifestation. The nature of God, who
delievered us from our being dead because of sin, without having experienced
falling to sin and the death that it brings.
2 PETER 1:8
For if you posses these qualities in increasing measure, they will keep you
from being ineffective and unproductive in your knowledge of our Lord Jesus
Christ.
If you want to be effective and productive as a Christian, then seek these
qualities with all your heart. What better guarantee could God give us than:
2 PETER 1:10-11
Therefore, my brothers, be all the more eager to make your calling and election
sure. For if you do these things, you will never fall, and you will receive a
rich welcome into the eternal kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
If you haven't yet accepted God's gift, Jesus Christ as your Savior, and Proclaimed him as your Lord, I encourage you to pray this prayer aloud:
